John Paul DeVerna is the founder of DeVerna Law, a litigation firm focusing on criminal defense, civil rights, and personal injury litigation. Mr. DeVerna has exemplary criminal defense advocacy skills resulting in 95% of his private clients receiving non-criminal disposition offers or trial wins. In the civil rights division of the firm, Mr. DeVerna has recovered monetary compensation for a variety of individuals alleging false arrest, police brutality, and malicious prosecution. In the personal injury division of the firm, he has recovered monetary compensation for client’s hurt due to the negligence of others.

Mr. DeVerna is a former felony prosecutor. His experience working in the District Attorney’s Office complemented Mr. DeVerna’s prior experience working at the New York State Attorney General’s Office, and for a New York Federal Judge. Mr. DeVerna is graduate of both Brooklyn Law School and the University of Maryland. He is an adjunct professor at Brooklyn Law School.
