Kreindler & Kreindler

Kreindler & Kreindler

Kreindler & Kreindler’s longtime position as the leader in aviation accident law can be traced back to 1952 when Lee S. Kreindler proved that a malfunctioning propeller on a National Airlines DC-6 caused a crash that killed 35 people. It was the first plaintiffs’ personal injury of its kind, and the jury awarded at the time the highest award ever as a result of an airplane crash.Today, over 70 years later, Kreindler partners have been leading counsel, or co-leading counsel, in nearly every major aviation accident case. In 2003, Kreindler set a single aviation disaster settlement record that still stands today — obtaining nearly $3 billion from Libya and Pan Am in lawsuits arising out of the bombing of Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. We have worked hard to honor Lee Kreindler’s legacy. We have delivered an unmatched history of securing record amounts of compensation for victims and their families, as well as promoting improvements to aviation industry safety standards, practices, laws, and regulations.Internationally recognized leaders in aviation accident law, Kreindler attorneys have represented plaintiffs in almost every major aircraft disaster case in the last half-century. Lee Kreindler is considered the founder of air disaster law. His three-volume treatise, Aviation Accident Law, first published in 1963, is considered the most authoritative resource on aviation litigation and continues to be updated by the firm to this day.
