The Zalkin Law Firm, PC

Alex joined The Zalkin Law Firm in 2011 as a graduate from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California. Alex’s practice focuses on representing survivors of childhood sexual abuse, as well as campus sexual misconduct in Title IX lawsuits against educational institutions. Alex has litigated, or is currently litigating, cases all over the country against educational institutions ranging from elementary school through the university and graduate school level.
Alex’s tireless work on behalf of survivors of campus sexual misconduct has resulted in several, favorable judicial precedents. Most notably, Alex successfully argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that a survivor of campus sexual assault can sue their educational institution based on that institution’s policy of indifference to sexual misconduct on campus which created a heightened risk for campus sexual assault to occur. This case represented the first time a Circuit Court of Appeals recognized this theory of liability in a Title IX case.
Alex’s work has been featured in several national publications, including The New York Times, ESPN, The San Francisco Chronicle, and BuzzFeed, among others, for his work on behalf of survivors of campus sexual assault.
